This category tends to be the heaviest. Standing books upright in small boxes makes them less likely to break through the bottom. Dishes and Glassware
This category requires the most packing effort. Wrap each item individually in newspaper or bubble wrap, then place them upright in the box (laying them flat increases breakage risk). Line the bottom and sides of the box with bubble wrap for cushioning. Clearly mark the outside of the box with "FRAGILE" and "This Side Up."
Clothing
Hanging clothes in specialized "wardrobe boxes" prevents wrinkles. Some moving companies provide these on moving day (confirm in advance). Clothing already in storage containers can often be transported as-is; check with your mover beforehand.
Electronics (PCs, Cameras, Smartphones)
Use the original box if available. Otherwise, wrap the entire item in thick bubble wrap and place it in a cardboard box.
