What Is a Designer Rental?
A "designer rental" (designer apartment) is a collective term for rental properties specifically designed by architects or designers with particular attention to exterior and interior aesthetics. It has no legal definition and is an industry term used by real estate professionals.
Common features include stylish exterior design, exposed concrete (raw concrete finish) or wood-accented interiors, large windows or open ceilings, and custom fixtures (built-in shelves, vanities, kitchens, etc.). These properties are concentrated in central urban areas and neighborhoods popular with younger residents, and rent is typically 10–30% higher than comparable standard apartments of similar size and age.
