Condominiums vs. Apartments: Definitions
There's no strict definition in the real estate industry, but they're generally distinguished as follows.
Condominiums Multi-unit residential buildings constructed with reinforced concrete (RC) or steel-reinforced concrete (SRC). Typically 3 stories or more, with excellent durability, fire resistance, and soundproofing.
Multi-unit residential buildings constructed with wood (W) or light-gauge steel (S). Typically 2–3 stories, with lower construction costs, which generally results in more affordable rents.
